A change of scenery, a new set of friends, a whole new outlook on life. It really doesn't take much or long to forget where you came from. Those places that God saw fit to pull you out of, He might one day call you back to. And so it was for us.
Tina's background on the stage covers her whole life, and has always been a major part of her dreams and goals in life. For Gary, the lure of the pen and the fantastical worlds it brought to life have dominated his outlook since earliest childhood. (Though you won't find any of that work here).
When we came to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and His sacrifice upon the cross at the age of 26, it seemed that those days of staring into the lights from a stage were over. Late nights spent laying awake with the echoes of applause in our ears, or plots and dialogues that would never be written dancing across the mind led to great distress and crying out to the Lord "Why do I have these dreams?!?!"
Then one day it hit us. Is there much difference between the moral of a well planned tragedy and the warning of a mountainside parable? Would Jesus be hung up on the presentation of His gospel, or would He be more interested in the integrity of it?
It says in James that "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, neither shadow that is cast by turning." What a gift that God had given us, and what little we had done with it since meeting the creator and giver of all gifts!
Not any more.
He will be glorified, and His pleasure is reflected in the faces of the literally HUNDREDS that have come to His throne of mercy and grace as a result of these gifts. Even those who already walk with Him are impacted and inspired to a closer relationship as a result of these productions, either through watching or participating. (Author included!)
It's why we are here. "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. " Paul went on to explain that we are here to lift each other up, and in so doing, exalt the name above all names... Jesus!
And to Him goes all the glory, the honor, and ALL the praise. The author and finisher of our lives ... the most Xtreme Plays!
